Physical Education
Physical Education classes are required in grades 9 and 10 and elective in grades 11 and 12.
The core PE program stresses development of skills in a wide variety of activities to encourage students to find ways to enjoy physical activity in leisure time and to develop awareness of the importance of personal fitness.

- Mechanics of body movement
- Aquatics
- Gymnastics and tumbling
- Individual and dual sports
- Rhythms and dance
- Team sports
- Combative (may include self-defense)

The following gym clothing and tennis shoes are required of all students in Physical Education classes: black shorts and T-shirt with an Evergreen Valley High School Physical Education logo (purchased through the Physical Education Department), socks, and athletic shoes. Sweat suits are option and must be plain white, gray, black, or teal. All gym clothing should be visible marked with the student's name. Gym clothing should be laundered each weekend. Each student is issued a locker with a combination lock that must be purchased from the PE Department and the student is responsible for the security of his / her own clothing. Swimsuits will be required during the swim portion of the unit.
